One Tree Hill is a teen drama directed by Mark Schwahn which first aired on the WB Television network in September 23, 2003. The show was aired until May 3, 2006 when WB Network was merged with the UPN to create CW television network. Forth season was aired on CW on September 27, 2006 and the fifth and final seasons ended on March 3, 2008. It is speculated that the One Tree Hill will be launched with a new avatar in 2009 in its sixth season.
Initially planned as a feature film by the director Mark Schwahn after advice from his friends he decided to produce it as a TV show. The series is based in the setup of Tree Hill a fictitious town name from the song 'One Tree hill' by U2. The show was planned to be called Raven until when the network asked Schwahn to rename it to One Tree Hill. Having the majority of female viewers this show has the lead-in as Gilmore Girls. With a huge star cast of Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Hilarie Burton, Bethany Joy Galeotti, Sophia Bush, Paul Johansson and Lee Norris this series has been creating a wave in the US homes since its premier show.
